American Hot Rods are typically classic cars with modified engines that are built for speed. The act of “Hot Rod” started in the 1920’s where guys would buy old tin Lizzie’s as  cheap as possible and then begin stripping  the fenders and hoods off. They would then ‘hop up’ the engine by porting and polishing  heads, changing the  compression ratios etc.. to have a car that outperformed all other cars on the road Thus, Hot Rodding was born.
